ST LOUIS, July 19, 2006 – International Fuel Technology, Inc. (IFT) (OTCBB: IFUE) will supply its DiesoLIFTTM fuel additive to Skinner Transportation’s fleet of 140 over-the-road trucks under a purchase agreement announced today.
“This purchase by Skinner Transportation Inc. (STI) is IFT’s first significant commercial agreement with a U.S. road transport company,” said Jonathan R. Burst, IFT’s Chief Executive Officer. “It follows extensive, highly successful field testing by STI, as well as documentation of significant fuel economy improvement in standardized tests conducted according to Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) protocol J1321.” IFT is also in commercial discussions with a number of large U.S. and foreign truck fleet operators which the company expects will result in purchase orders later this year, Burst added.
Steve Skinner, STI’s President, said, “Our extensive field trial utilizing 26 trucks clearly demonstrated the efficacy and value proposition of IFT’s technology. We realized, on average, a 5% to 7% improvement in fuel economy using DiesoLIFTTM. Anyone interested in decreasing their costs per mile and adding to their bottom line should use this product. In addition, we believe that using IFT’s technology enables us to help the environment by burning less fuel, and reducing harmful emissions.”
Austin, Texas-headquartered STI operates 140 over-the-road trucks supplying liquid asphalt and bulk commodities to construction and industrial customers in Texas and surrounding states. The STI DiesoLIFTÔ field trial commenced in November 2005, and the trucks began realizing improved mileage after three weeks. After using DiesoLIFTÔ blended into yard fuel for a 26-truck trial group for three months and achieving consistent fuel economy gains, STI -- as part of the field test process – stopped adding the product to the trucks’ fuel supply. Almost immediately, fuel economy rates returned to pre-additized levels. “It then took us three more weeks of additizing to get back to the higher miles-per-gallon levels we had achieved in the first three months of the test,” Skinner added. “The trial made it clear to us that uninterrupted additizing is needed to achieve consistent results.”
International Fuel Technology is a fuel performance enhancement company focused on providing its technology to large, industrial consumers of liquid hydrocarbon-based fuels.
